Installation/Upgrade on WordPress

Before you start, be sure your server meets the server requirements. Best ask at your hosting provider’s support desk or consult with your system administrator.

If you upgrade ConfigBox and have an installation with customizations

You need to do a one-time step before upgrading, described on this page. Out of technical reasons we could automate this step away. This is necessary only once.

Download the Plugin in the ConfigBox Client Center

At the ConfigBox client center (https://www.configbox.at/en/client-center) you download the Plugin for your license.

You will get a file called configbox-wordpress-3.3.0.zip file which you will upload to your Wordpress site in the next step.

Install the Plugin on your website

In your Wordpress Backend, navigate to ‘Plugins’ using the left-hand-side menu. Click ‘Add New’. This step works also for updating ConfigBox.

On the Add Plugins screen, click ‘Upload Plugin’

Then choose the plugin zip file that you downloaded and click ‘Install Now’.

Allow a moment for upload, then click ‘Activate Plugin'.

Note: On updates you will see a warning that says the plugin already exists and will be overwritten. This is normal, you can allow the overwriting.

You’ll see ConfigBox installed and activated on your plugin page.

Head over to ‘Settings’ → ‘Permalinks’

Change ‘Common Settings’ to ‘Post Name’ and click ‘Save Changes’ on the bottom of the page.

Navigate to ConfigBox

And follow through the post installation assistant. It will guide you through the essential store settings.

Then navigate to ConfigBox → Settings and pick a URL for the cart page and the account page

Finished - you’re good to go to add your products and display them on your site using shortlinks.
